ADE OKEAYA-INNEH, SAN

Ade Okeaya-lnneh graduated from the International University — Europe, ushey England in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Relations with a Second Class Upper Division. He then proceeded to theStaffordshire University, Stoke-upon-Trent, England where he graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Law degree also with a 2nd Class Upper Division and with distinctions in the Law of Evidence and Commercial Law. He thereafter proceeded to Kings College, University of London where he obtained a Masters degree in Law (emphasis on International Commercial Transactions and Public International Law) in 1991. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1992. He worked in the Law Firm ofG. O. K. Ajayi (SAN) from 1992 to 1994 and then practiced in the Lagos office of K. S. Okeaya — Inneh & Co. between 1994 and 1998. In 1998 he proceeded to Abuja to set up his Legal practice and in December 2008 he was appointed a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.

Ade Okeaya-lnneh’s practice Is mostly in the Appellate Courts in Nigeria. He has been involved as lead Counsel in several cases in the Nigerian Courts of Appeal and Supreme Court. In more recent times, he has been representing INEC in the National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, the office of the Attorney General of the Federation in several Constitutional and Land mark cases; the Government of Rivers State in disputes resulting from distribution ofoil wells between Rivers State and Akwa Ibom State; In the wake of 2013, he also represented the Federal Government as well as the then president. Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR in several suits filed on the eligibility ofthe latter to contest elections in 2015. Ade Okeaya-lnneh, SAN has argued over 60 interlocutory and final appeals in the Appellate Courts and has handled several arbitration matters both locally and internationally. He was a co-Consultant to the Central Bank of Nigeria on the creation of Specialized Commercial Courts in Nigeria.

He represented Creek Aviation in the hearings at the National Assembly, Nigerian Petroleum Committee with regard to Local Content Issues in the Oil Servicing Sector ofthe Oil Industry. He was Counsel to the Securities and Exchange Commission SEC in the claim by shareholders of Inland Bank Nigeria Ltd against IBN Securities Ltd, Inland Bank Nigeria Limited, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission before the I Investment and Securities Tribunal Nigeria. Mr. Ade Okeaya-lnneh is a Trustee of the Constitutional Rights Development Project. member Nigerian Court of Appeal Rules Committee 2010/2011, member Rules Committee for the preparation of Draft Rules for the practice and procedure ofthe Election tribunals 2010 -2011 and member Nigerian Bar Association.
